This year`s exhibitions

crossing the ice - findings from the ice leads the way

Glacier archeological findings made in the mountain area surrounding us, are the starting point for this exhibition that lasts until 2017. The exhibition showcase prehistoric use of the mountain, and is mainly based upon findings made in Lendbreen in Breheimen. The exhibition also shows the mythical aspect connected to the mountain. What kind of clothes and tools do we know humans used at that time? What about transportation over the mountain? How do the archeologists work when they systematically look for traces from the past?

The norwegian trekking association (Dnt) -
nature experiences in (soon to be) 150 years

We have now opened the exhibition The Norwegian Trekking Association - nature experiences in (soon to be) 150 years. DNT has its annual convention in Lom in June, and in 2018 it is 150 years ago since the organization was established. The mountain center and the mountain museum wish to shed a light on this, and you will find photographs from the association`s history in the exhibition. DNT was one of the founders when the Norwegian mountain museum was established, and the museum has collections connected to the history of DNT.
